About the Artist - Elizabeth Schippert
Elizabeth Schippert, born in 1949 in New Jersey, is an American artist with a diverse and accomplished career. She graduated in Fine Art and Biology from Emmanuel College in Boston before pursuing studies at the Instituto Allende in Mexico, the School of the Museum of Fine Art in Boston, and the Maryland Institute College of Art in Baltimore. Schippert focused on classical techniques in printmaking, figure and portrait drawing and painting, as well as Japanese and Chinese calligraphy.
Since becoming a professional artist in 1973, she has held over 35 solo exhibitions nationally and internationally, including shows in Sweden, Japan, and the Caribbean, with five exhibitions in New York City. Schippert, an award-winning artist in various media, has participated in group and invitational events for over 35 years. Her work is featured in museum and public collections in Sweden, as well as in public, corporate, and private collections nationwide and beyond.
Alongside her husband Sven Widen, Elizabeth Schippert is involved in teaching ongoing classes at Art Alliance, covering classical drawing and painting media, and she also leads Plein Air Workshops. Her artistic journey reflects a commitment to classical techniques and a broad exploration of various mediums.
