About the Artist - Egidio Bonfante

Egidio Bonfante (1922–2004) was an Italian artist known for his diverse contributions, spanning from paintings of Venice to collaborations with Olivetti, a renowned Italian company. Born in Treviso in 1922, Bonfante moved to Milan after studying at the Brera Academy and enrolling in the Faculty of Architecture at the Polytechnic.


In 1942, he co-founded a monthly magazine and later collaborated with Olivetti in 1948, marking a turning point in his career. Bonfante's graphic design for Olivetti's publications, including Community and Urban News, gained widespread recognition. Beyond magazine covers, he worked on paintings for Olivetti's spaces and collaborated on exhibitions and exhibition stands.
