About the Artist - Pol Bury

Pol Bury (1922-2005) was a Belgian artist associated with the Kinetic and Op Art movements. He gained international acclaim for his innovative and mesmerizing sculptures and installations. Bury's art was characterized by its focus on movement and the passage of time.

In the 1950s, Bury co-founded the Groupe de Recherche d'Art Visuel (GRAV) and later became associated with the Kinetic Art movement. His signature works often featured meticulously crafted objects, such as metal spheres or rods, that moved in unpredictable and rhythmic patterns, creating optical illusions and a sense of constant motion.

Pol Bury's art challenged traditional notions of static art and invited viewers to engage with the dynamic and ever-changing qualities of his creations, making him a significant figure in the evolution of modern and kinetic art.
