About the Artist - Rolf Ball
Rolf Ball was born in Strasbourg in 1945. Passionate about painting from a very young age, he decided to undertake artistic studies at the Decorative Arts of Strasbourg, under the aegis of Camille Hirtz, his initiator and teacher, with whom he maintained a deep friendship. Attracted by prehistory and the art of traditional populations, he pursued ethnology studies at the Faculty of Human Sciences in Strasbourg, and directed his research towards African art, cave art and that of other ethnic groups ( Australian Aborigines, Inuit, Incas, etc.). Numerous exhibitions mark his career in France, Germany, Switzerland, Luxembourg, Italy etc. Since 1996, he has been president of the Society of Independent Artists of Alsace.
