FORM Vintage specializes in original French exhibition posters, lithographs, serigraphs, and signed artist proofs primarily from the 1960s, 1970s, 1980s and 1990s. Each piece is an original vintage work — not a reproduction — selected for its visual impact, historical significance, and condition.
All pieces are original vintage works. FORM Vintage does not sell reproductions or modern reprints. Many pieces are signed by the artist, numbered as part of a limited edition, or carry artist proof designations, which are noted in each product listing. If they are an unsigned print these were officially produced and approved by the artist's estate directly and not through unapproved and unlicensed print houses.
A lithograph is a print made using a stone or metal plate, often produced in a numbered limited edition. A serigraph (also called a silkscreen) is made by pushing ink through a mesh screen, typically resulting in bold colors. An artist proof (épreuve d'artiste) is a print from outside the main numbered edition, traditionally kept by the artist — these are often rarer and more valuable than standard edition prints.
Authenticity indicators include a hand-written artist signature, edition numbering (e.g. 42/150), an artist proof stamp or notation, period-appropriate paper and printing techniques, and provenance documentation where available. FORM Vintage carefully evaluates each piece before listing and notes all relevant authentication details in the product description. We also fly to Europe to work directly with historic and trusted sellers to ensure we only sell the very best works available.
FORM Vintage curates pieces from estate sales, private collections, and specialist dealers, with a focus on French, Italian and American mid-century works. Every authentic piece is individually selected based on condition, originality, and lasting visual appeal.
A French exhibition poster (affiche d'exposition) was produced to announce a specific art exhibition, typically at a gallery or museum in France. Many were designed or approved by the featured artist themselves, making them collectible original works rather than simple advertising. French exhibition posters from the mid-century era are highly sought after by collectors worldwide.
To preserve a vintage print, keep it out of direct sunlight to prevent fading, store or frame it away from humidity, and use UV-protective glass if framing. Avoid touching the printed surface directly. Proper framing by a professional framer experienced with works on paper is recommended. If storing the work, rather than displaying try to store with the print laying flat, rather than rolled in a tube.
FORM Vintage offers original vintage art typically ranging from $129 to $275, making it accessible for first-time collectors and seasoned buyers alike. Each piece is priced individually based on rarity, artist, condition, and edition.
