1975 Gilou Brillant Signed Aquatint Etching. Printed on thick matte paper and gorgeous etched details which are even more beautiful in person. Gorgeous rich colors in a striking and timeless design. Aquatint Etching with Carborundum, hand signed in pencil and numbered by the artist, part of limited series 62/99. Aquatint is an etching process in which tone is created by treating a plate with fine particles of acid resistant material (like powder resin) and then placing the plate in an acid bath. The acid bites into the plate between the grains of resin and when printed, the mass of tiny spots produces a textured area with tonal effects similar to watercolor wash.

About the Artist - Gilou Brillant
Born on March 17th, 1935 in Essertines, France Gilou Brillant is an abstract expressionist artist. She specialised in etchings which were original in their idea and unique in their execution. With expert aquatint applications and a large breathe of work which saw the artist reach international acclaim early in his career. She produced most of her work during the 1970s. Brillant still resides in France til this day.
