About the Artist - Andreu Alfaro

Andreu Alfaro (1929–2012) was a renowned Spanish sculptor associated with abstract and geometric art. Born in Valencia, Spain, Alfaro studied at the San Carlos Fine Arts Royal Academy. He gained prominence in the 1950s as part of the Spanish abstract art movement. Alfaro's sculptures often featured clean lines and geometric shapes, reflecting his fascination with balance and harmony. He explored various materials, including iron and steel, and his works are characterized by a sense of simplicity and precision. Alfaro's artistic contributions extended beyond sculptures, as he also engaged in public art projects and taught at the San Carlos Fine Arts Royal Academy. Throughout his career, he received numerous accolades and left a lasting impact on the Spanish contemporary art scene.
