About the Artist - Pablo Picasso

Pablo Picasso (1881-1973) was a Spanish painter, sculptor, and one of the most influential artists of the 20th century. He is best known for co-founding the Cubist movement and for his prolific and diverse body of work. Picasso's artistic career can be divided into several distinct periods, including the Blue Period, Rose Period, and the groundbreaking Cubist period.

Born in Malaga, Spain, he showed extraordinary artistic talent from a young age and eventually moved to Paris, where he became a central figure in the avant-garde art scene. Picasso's personal life was as dynamic as his art. He had numerous relationships and marriages, including a tumultuous one with fellow artist Dora Maar and a more stable partnership with Jacqueline Roque, whom he married in his later years.

Notable works by Picasso include "Les Demoiselles d'Avignon" (1907) and "Guernica" (1937), a powerful anti-war painting inspired by the Spanish Civil War. His ability to master multiple art styles and his innovative approach to art continue to influence artists worldwide. Picasso's impact on modern art is immeasurable, and his legacy endures as a symbol of artistic innovation and creativity.
