Pier Paolo Calzolari (born in 1943) is an Italian contemporary artist known for his unique and multidisciplinary approach to art. He emerged in the late 1960s as part of the Arte Povera movement, a radical art movement that rejected traditional materials in favor of unconventional and often ephemeral ones.
 
Calzolari's work often incorporates organic elements like ice, neon lights, tobacco leaves, and lead, creating sculptures and installations that blur the boundaries between nature and culture. His pieces often evoke a sense of timelessness and transformation, as materials change or decay over time.
